Learning on Toy Accordion
Main Post:
Hello! I'm really interested in picking up a mini/child accordion as a stepping stone to a proper one, because I have zero music experience.
I've been looking online for resources and haven't found many. Any tips for learning some songs, or adapting the ones meant for a full-sized one to the mini one?

Thank you!
Top Comment: Others make excellent points about the limitations and quality of a toy, but if you’re aware of those and still want to try it, I say go for it! Relax and enjoy yourself. I think some people may take exception to the comparison of their instrument to a toy because it implies that their instrument is in fact a toy and feels like a denigration of their serious pursuit. That is fair but doesn’t need to discourage you. Challenges and limitations can encourage creativity. And some pursuits have no greater purpose but are worth doing for the small joy they bring. Edit to add: Regarding the PulseTV Deals video. Do be aware that they are selling something with all the earnest integrity of a used car salesman. Take a pinch of salt when Khalil says “This is a really, really good quality piece!” Edit 2 to add: In case it's not clear already from everyone's comments, it will likely be more difficult to play the same tune on the toy vs. on a larger "real" entry-level instrument.
Best toys to help promote walking/ learning to walk
Main Post:
Honestly just wondering what toys/ items that are budget friendly to help baby with learning to walk. My baby will be 12 months on the 27th. She’s almost got standing down she’s just still alittle bottom heavy and buckles at the knees. I think having one of those push along toys would help her grasp how to do it.
Top Comment: We have a Baby Einstein activity walker and my daughter loves it. She has been using it to practice standing since 10 months old and I really think it helped her gain confidence to walk independently.

Favorite toys for your 4 year old
Main Post:
My daughter is turning 4 and I have no idea what to get her. We have lots of hand me downs so she doesn’t NEED anything and we have the “basics”. Some toys I know she would want but also how many Barbie’s and baby dolls does on kid need?
Anyways, I always find it helpful when people just tell me their 4 year olds favorite toy, or a go to gift they will buy. Boy or girl, doesn’t matter.
Top Comment: It would help to know what she likes to play with now. I personally think you can’t go wrong with magna-tiles, Lego, kinetic sand, arts and craft supplies, bubble blasters or water blasters in general, karaoke machine...
Toy and Game Ideas for Severe Special Needs Room - Developmental Level at 1-2 Years
Main Post:
I am looking for people who have experience recommending toys and games for special needs students. They are in elementary school but are developmentally around 1-2 years of age. What are some toys and games you recommend to help this population learn and generalize new skills? I am a BCBA and SPED teacher with a background in psych and neuro, but would love the input of any other related field. I have a lot already but would love to add more. Thanks in advance!
Top Comment: I love having open ended play toys such as magna tiles, blocks, animal figurines and play doh. I also have found cause/effect toys such as a car you can roll down a track, or toys that light up/make noise in response to touch to be really fun to have in classrooms!
